The surgery and waiting areas of this surgery are simply neglected, dirty and dingy. It is a area in which mainly the patients spend time in. However, the consulting rooms where the doctors spend most of their time, is in a much better state. This merely represents the practice's attitude and approach to their patients, the comfort, convenience and best interests of the staff is clearly prioritised over that of the patients. The receptionists is the stereotypical and standard rude and aggressive NHS "dragon ladies". They have the remarkable ability to turn a simple telephone conversation to make an appointment in a deeply unpleasant experience leaving. The extremely rude, abrupt and impatient manner in which they speak to you leaves you feeling "violated". The GP's are arrogant, patronising and extremely disrespectful of you rights to be informed about your health care and to be involved in decisions about your health care. This practice represents these rights as being a favour bestowed upon you rather than being a basic human right. The GP's at this practise have absolutely no respect whatsoever for their patients and believe they are entitled to make health care decision on behalf of their patients. At the same time they are totally and utterly indifferent and disinterested in the health and wellbeing of their patients. A doctor at this practise advised my husband after experiencing a severe allergic reaction to nuts that given he has survived to middle age, she does not see any reason whatsoever for any concerns, notwithstanding that such a severe allergic reaction could potentially lead to anaphylaxis. In order to make her life easier, she thought it prudent to potentially put a patients' life at risk. This is just another one of those NHS institutions where the staff put their own interests above the interests and wellbeing of the patients. If you only require treatment for the most common conditions like asthma, eczema, high cholesterol and high blood pressure, then this practise might suffice. If you have a health condition which is more serious or complicated than these "standard" conditions, I strongly recommend that you find yourself another practise where your concerned will not merely be dismissed and be met with utter indifference.
